Chef Vicky Ratnani is one of India’s foremost celebrity chefs to bring fusion cooking to our kitchens. He is known for his signature style of cooking Indian food with a global twist. Be it the Mexican Grilled Corn on the Cob Chaat, Crispy Fish Tacos or the Italian calzone spiked with Punjabi Butter Chicken, his recipes are as flamboyant as his personality.
 

A curious heart with an adventurous bent, his culinary journey began as a kid when he started exploring the kitchen. He completed his graduation from the prestigious Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai, and then set sail on Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) to fulfil his culinary dreams. On board the cruise ship, he was exposed to various global cuisines and thus began his tryst with fusion food. The ship took him to various ports across the globe which further stoked his curiosity and helped him build his signature style. He has worked onboard a few of the world’s best luxury cruise ships. He was the Executive Sous Chef of Queen Mary 2 and also the Executive Chef for Queen Victoria.

Chef Vicky then went to live in Genoa, Italy, to hone his skills. One of his most notable achievements is his appointment as Mr. Nelson Mandela’s personal chef during his journey from Durban to Cape Town. After he returned to India, he took over and set up a few highly-revered restaurants such as Aurus and Nido. In 2015, he won the Chef of the Year award at the Indian Restaurant Awards. In 2017, his restaurant, The Korner House by Chef Vicky won the ‘Best Restaurant – European Cuisine’ at the Times Food Awards. His book Vicky Goes Veg, a take on global vegetarian food with an Indian twist, won the Gourmand Award for ‘Best Vegetarian Cookbook India’. His endearing and flamboyant persona on and off screen also won him the Most Stylish Chef of the Year 2018 at the Lokmat Most Stylish Awards.

Chef Vicky’s television jaunt has made him one of the most popular chefs on Indian TV. He is loved for his unique recipes, and contemporary cooking style. Some of his most-loved television shows include Vickypedia, A Taste Down Under (shot in Australia), Vicky Goes Desi, Vicky Goes Foreign, Vicky Goes Veg and Gourmet Central.
