Here are some tips from Grandma’s repertoire:
 

1. Turmeric

A staple of Indian kitchens, this yellow-coloured spice has medicinal, antiseptic and cosmetic properties. 
Mix 1 teaspoon turmeric with 2 teaspoons gram flour. Add enough water to make a paste and apply on face and neck. Rinse with plain water after 15 minutes. Use this face-pack 3 times a week.
To heal acne, make a paste of turmeric and lemon juice and apply on the zit. Wash it off when it dries

2. Honey

For dry skin mix equal parts of honey and cucumber juice and apply on face and body. Rinse it off with cool water after 15 minutes.
To reduce wrinkles and fine lines, apply honey on face and leave it for 20 minutes. Wash with lukewarm water

3. Tomato

Take a slice and rub it on your face to get a tan-free, glowing skin.
For softer skin, apply a paste of tomato pulp and honey. You are guaranteed quick results

4. Lemon

Mix a teaspoon of lemon juice with a teaspoon of granulated sugar and scrub your face. This mixture works to exfoliate and is a natural bleaching agent. It helps in getting rid of dead cells and rejuvenating the skin

5. Curd

Nothing works better than curd to remedy dry skin. Use stale curd to clean and nourish your face and body

6. Milk

Mix 2 teaspoons of milk, 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of gram flour to make a paste. Apply on the face and leave till the pack dries. Rinse off with warm water
