Telegu Cinema has not only gained national but also international appeal, winning audiences through some stellar and epic films over the years. Other than producing the highest number of movies in India, the industry also holds the Guinness World Record for the largest integrated film city – Ramoji Film City which covers over 1666 acres. 1. Mahanati

Have you heard of the yesteryear actress Savitri? Mahanati is a 2018 biographical film based on the life of the South Indian actress ‘Mahanati Savitri’ who took the film industry by storm in the late 50’s and 60’s. Actress Keerthy Suresh stars in the title role with Dulquer Salmaan, Samantha Akkineni, and Vijay Devarakonda also as lead characters in the movie. The movie was produced by C. Ashwini Dutt, Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt and has received positive reviews from audiences and critics since its worldwide release in May.

2. Badrinath

The 2011 Telegu action film is a devotional drama where a warrior under the guidance of a religious guru becomes a protector and attempts to revive an agnostic girl’s faith in God. The film marks the first pairing of stars Allu Arjun and Tamannaah who play the lead roles along with Prakash Raj. It is said is to have been one of the most expensive Telegu movies on that time, collecting over 30 crores worldwide on its release. The movie received one Filmfare Award and one Nandi Award.

3. Adhurs

The Nandi award-winning 2010 action drama is a story about twins separated at birth, only to be reunited years later and their fight to bring their parents back together. Starring NTR Jr. in a dual role as the twin, it also features Nayantara and Sheela as female leads, the movie another successful hit delivered by the ‘V.V Vinayak and Jr. NTR ‘ combo. Enjoy some twin moments by the amazing actor Jr. NTR, in this light watch.

4. Athadu

Athadu is the story of a professional killer framed for murder man on the run, discovering his love and his fight to win. This 2005 action thriller is a captivating story that shows off director Trivikram’s talents in his rising years. he film features an ensemble cast of Mahesh Babu, Trisha Krishnan, Sonu Sood, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Sayaji Shinde, Nassar and Prakash Raj. The cult classic became one of the highest grossing Telugu films of the time and resurrected actor Mahesh Babu’s career after a few unsuccessful films

5. Attarintiki Daredi

The 2013 comedy-drama blockbuster was written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas, starring actor Pawan Kalyan who sets on a quest to win over and reconcile with his estranged aunt on behalf of his grandfather and fulfill his wish. The movie collected nearly ₹ 187 crores, making it the highest-grossing Telegu film of all time until it was surpassed by Baahubali: The Beginning in 2015. The movie not only received positively by audiences but also went on to win four Filmfare Awards, six SIIMA Awards, four Nandi Awards, six Santosham Film Awards and the B. Nagi Reddy Memorial Award.
