Some Tamil movies are evergreen and have a universal appeal. These are films that can be watched over and over again. Catch some of these blockbuster movies on Tata Sky Tamil Cinema Service. Let’s take a look at some of the films lined up. Go watch it, da!

Maari (2015)

Dhanush hits bulls-eye with Maari. He steals the show as the local ruffian who extorts money from people in his locality. Punchy dialogues and riveting confrontations perk up the entertainment quotient. No boring clichés like the bad guy turning a leaf after falling in love! Instead, you have exciting twists which make for absorbing fare. Watch it for Dhanush though; especially when he hisses “senjiruven” (I’ll finish you off). Truly whistle-blowing stuff!

Raja Rani (2013)

Raja Rani is a refreshing take on love and relationships. This tear-jerker is bound together by stellar
performances and masterful storytelling. It is the story of a reluctantly married couple -- John (Arya) and Regina (Nayanthara). Failed relationships in the past continue to haunt them. How their relationship evolves forms the crux of the story. It is an engrossing tale of life-gone-wrong-in-love-turned-right.

Vishwaroopam (2013)

The legendary Kamal Haasan stars in this spy thriller film based on international espionage. Technically on par with Hollywood films, Vishwaroopam boasts of a multi-layered story. There are enough twists and turns in this action flick to keep you glued to your seat. Each character has multiple shades which unravel as the movie progresses. Vishwaroopam is a pulsating experience. Watch it for its technical finesse, gripping narrative and of course, Kamal Haasan!

Maan Karate (2014)

A mystic, a newspaper printed in the future and a boxing bout! Maan Karate stitches together entirely unrelated elements to craft a dramatic story. The offbeat script blends together fantasy, romance and sports. The result is an entertaining spectacle which will make you believe the unbelievable. Hansika Motwani is outstanding. She looks a zillion bucks in her ultra-slim avatar, especially in the glamorous dance sequences. A movie high in the entertainment quotient!

Thuppakki (2012)

This colossal blockbuster was directed by AR Murugadoss (of Ghajini fame). The action thriller was subsequently remade in various languages. Thuppakki had all the trappings of a mass entertainer — a taut storyline, edge-of-the-seat action, a stylish Vijay in the lead and a menacing villain in Vidyut Jammwal.  A complete paisa vasool package

Velaikkaran (2017)

Velaikkaran is a hard-hitting story about ethics and morality. What do you do when faced with a moral dilemma? Do you listen to your conscience or succumb to your aspirations? Sivakarthikeyan is magnificent as the intense protagonist and is ably assisted by a strong supporting cast and impactful dialogues. However, what makes Velaikkaran stand out is its comparison of crime-infested slums with the glossy yet deceptive corporate world.  Truly groundbreaking!
