When its Rajnikanth, we have no doubt about how big the film can get and how the fans would go crazy and react after the release. Petta, being the 165th film of Rajni sir, we’re already going mad after watching the trailer of the film. Let’s see what the film has for us.
With Petta releasing on Pongal day, the audiences have got excited as we continue to get Rajnified.
In Karthik Subbaraj’s next, Rajni plays the role of a college warden, protecting his team from the influence of Vijay Sethupathi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
The film also has Trisha Krishnan, Simran, Bobby Simha and M Sasikumar in its cast, giving us all the more reason to book our tickets right away.
In a telephonic interview with the director, Subbaraj said: “Petta has all the dimensions of Rajinikanth’s performances”. He also mentioned that Petta is a tribute to Rajini sir’s character from Mullum Malarum.
When asked about the new combination of actors Subbaraj said, “Rajini sir used to say that Baasha worked for him because it had a strong antagonist in Raghuvaran. Hence he also wanted to have a strong antagonist to give the story a good kick. That is why when Petta demanded two antagonists, we decided on Nawazuddin and Vijay Sethupathi”.
He also mentioned that Petta will bring the old mass Rajni back that people love the most and that there are shots in the film that people will relate to and connect with his oldest and most loyal fans.
