This Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey starrer Netflix movie is a fresh take and self-aware approach on the rom-com genre. It follows two individuals who are unsuccessful in love and agree to be each other's ‘platonic dates’ on holidays, eventually falling in love along the way. The movie is refreshing, young and adapts the holiday spirit in the perfect way. This one should definitely be on your movies to watch on Christmas list.

The Christmas Chronicles - 2018

Released in 2018, this must-watch Christmas movie was streamed by 20 million people within the first week of its release. The Christmas Chronicles narrates the story of two kids trying to capture Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and the events that unfolded following this curious scheme. A jolly-good Christmas movie, it starred Kurt Russell as Santa Claus. It is produced by people behind our all-time favourite movies like Chris Columbus (director of Home Alone) and Mark Radcliffe (producer of the Harry Potter films and Night at the Museum franchise). Not a romantic Christmas film, The Christmas Chronicles can be enjoyed by adults and kids alike.

The Holiday - 2006

The holiday is one of the top Christmas movies to watch if you’re in a mood for a sweet romantic movie. The movie revolves around two polar opposite women- the sweet, simple iris and the outgoing, smart Amanda, who decide to swap houses to get away for the holidays and from their messy lives. The impressive cast includes Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and Jack Black in the main leads. The movie gave rise to the trend of swapping homes so much that the police in England had to issue a warning against doing it with strangers due to identity fraud. This popular Christmas movie will do perfectly for a Christmas date with your special someone.

The Polar Express - 2004

The Guinness World Record holder for the first all-digital capture movie, The Polar Express, is one of the top family Christmas movies. The movie chronicles the journey of a boy who joins other children on a mysterious train bound to the North Pole to visit Santa. The famous Hollywood actor Tom Hanks played five characters in the movie and it is also noted that the main boy doesn’t have a name and is referred to as “Hero Boy” in the credits. The movie was ranked 2nd at the box office at the time of its release and appeared at the 3rd position in the "25 Highest-Grossing Christmas Movies of All Time at the U.S. Box Office" list by Forbes. Intriguing storyline and amazing visuals, The Polar Express is a treat for audiences of all ages.

The Santa Clause - 1994

The Santa Clause released in 1994 is a good old-fashioned classic Christmas movie that revolves around an ordinary man who causes Santa Claus to fall from his roof and is announced as the new Santa after delivering all the gifts on Christmas Eve. The family Christmas movie was re-released during the Covid-19 pandemic in November 2020 across 1,581 theatres and again garnered a large audience.

The Family Stone - 2005

Backed by a strong cast, The Family Stone is a family Christmas movie that chronicles the Stone family in a small New England town and the Christmas misadventures that follow the holiday season. gained such huge popularity that it was the no. 1 movie for twelve weeks straight at the box office. The movie earned the Guinness World Record as the highest-grossing live action-comedy movie and held the record for straight 27 years. The movie was even nominated for two Golden Globe Awards- Best Motion Picture: Musical or Comedy and Best Actor in a Motion Picture: Musical or Comedy for Macaulay Culkin as well as two Oscars Awards- Best Original Score: John Williams and Best Original Song: Somewhere in My Memory. Romantic, mystical and oh-so-Christmassy! A Christmas Prince follows a magazine journalist disguised as a tutor and a prince regarded as an irresponsible playboy. The movie was filmed in Sinaia, Romania and is succeeded by two sequels titled  A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby. Based on a story by Valentine Davies, Miracle On 34th Street is regarded as a must-watch classic Christmas movie. The movie revolves around a department store Santa Claus who claims to be the real Santa Claus.
