Making almost every Indian’s day, Rohit Sharma was at the epitome of his batting with a century in the opening match of the series. Rising from the defeat at the hands of Chennai Superkings in IPL, Rohit made it easy for Indians to steal the win.
Called ‘lethal’ by captain Virat Kohli and rightly so, Kuldeep Yadav came up with a performance that made this T20 most profitable for him. Taking 5 wickets at the opening of the series in Manchester, Yadav helped better the team’s confidence and sent a shock down the spine of the English team.
Coming in the T20 as a replacement of Jusmeet Bumrah, Umesh Yadav proved himself to be a strong candidate for the team by taking key wickets and giving off minimal runs at the tour.
The KL Rahulled assault at Manchester not only helped India chase 160, but also proved that the team’s batting prowess at a time when the likes of Shikhar Dhawan were bowled at an unimpressive score. Rahul stood tall in the stadium with 101 not out at Manchester.
A well-deserved all rounder for Team India, Hardik Pandya took four wickets at Bristal and showed an impressive batting with a six to win the game. Pandya proved to be an asset to the team and became first Indian player and seventh player overall to score 30 plus runs and take four more wickets in a T20 International.
