How the internet reacted to Zingaat 2.0

Remakes, retakes and recreations are not new in Bollywood. From iconic songs to movies of the golden era, remakes are made with entirely a different cast or original versions are recreated in high-definition and colour, and the results are sometimes better than the original or just plain disastrous. The latest in the long list of remakes is the Karan Johar led ‘Dhadhak’, starring Ishan Khattar and Jhanvi Kapoor which is remake of the Marathi movie called ‘Sairat’ that soon became a runway hit. Apart from the rage at the box office, it gave us an unforgettable song called ‘Zingaat”. With the official release of the hindi version of Zingaat featuring the young Jhanvi and Ishaan, the Internet audience was quick to judge and react in the form of memes, puns and trolls. Take a look at some the funniest reactions we found

1. Looking that number of retweets, it seems that a lot of people agree with Sheetu Singh
2. We’re not sure we should thank Karan Johar for the new bonding between different people or be sad for the remake.

3. Internet’s darling, Fitoor Mishra comes back with his commentarre and it’s hilarious as always. His accent is icing on the cake. Take a look.

4. We feel sorry for you, Sairat fans

5. One can’t always beat the original, can they?
6. A Sairat fan took to Facebook and posted his reasoning behind sticking to the original track and not appreciating the remake. We must say, that’s quite an explanation!
7. The audience seems to get smarter by the day.
8. It seems people haven’t forgotten Baahubali either as this scene from the movie ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ is quite symbolic.
9. The phrase ‘lost in translation’ fits quite well in the case of Zingaat remake.
