Hey IPL, watch out for these 4 young cricketers who can set IPL 2019 on fire!

December began with a bang. The Priyanka and Nick Jonas wedding, followed by Deepika and Ranveer’s. And, of course, the high profile India Vs Australia 2018 series. But all that took a backseat on 18th December 2018. The auctioning of cricket players for the cricket extravaganza, IPL, was held in Jaipur. Lives changed after the auction, with many cricketers becoming millionaires overnight. Let’s look at a few young cricketers who are ready to set the biggest T20 stage on fire:

1. Varun Chakravarthy

The ‘mystery’ spinner from Tamil Nadu was sitting with his family watching the IPL auction. An architect by profession, Varun was hopeful of playing in the IPL but unprepared for the price he was finally bought at. With a base price of Rs. 20 lakh, Varun Chakravarthy was eventually bought by the Kings XI Punjab for a whopping Rs 8.4 crore. It came as no surprise for Varun can bowl seven different variations in a 6-ball-over. His skills were best on display during the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Premier League, where he played a pivotal role in Madurai Panthers’ victory in the finals. We can’t wait to see Varun Chakravarthy’s exploits in IPL 2019

2. Bandaru Ayappa

Hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Bandaru Ayappa will be keen to make a mark for the Delhi Capitals. Delhi Capitals, earlier called Delhi Daredevils, is the only team to have not made it to the finals of the IPL. Much of the responsibility for their stint in the league will on young guns like Ayappa. The right-arm medium pacer received a shot in the arm when he was picked in India Blue squad for the 2018-19 Duleep Trophy and will look to carry his good form into the IPL

3. Murugan Ashwin

After his successful outing for the Rising Pune Supergiants in 2016, where he rubbed shoulders with MS Dhoni, Murugan Ashwin has evolved as a fine bowler. He went on to play for Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the subsequent IPL seasons. The wily leg-spinner who was in the news after taking a stunning catch for Chepauk Super Gillies is a player with all-round abilities. Down the batting order, Ashwin has the knack of scoring quick-fire runs too. Kings XI Punjab will be hoping he brings his A-game for them in IPL, 2019

4. Shivam Dube

When you talk about strategies, very few can come close to this 25-year-old from Mumbai. In a Ranji Trophy game against Baroda, Shivam Dube smashed Swapnil Singh for five consecutive sixes. He did this one day before the IPL auction. Before you brush it off as a one-time event, Shivam had earlier hit the veteran Pravin Tambe for five sixes in the Mumbai T20 league this year. That was enough to increase his brand at the IPL auction. Royal Challengers Bangalore were happy to shell out Rs5 crore for Shivam. A team that boasts of legends like AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli, Shivam Dube will look to impress one and all with his six-hitting prowess
