Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami had been, for a very long time ruling the Indian cricket industry with their stunning performances and their sublime skills. It was they who maintained the audience's interest in Women’s cricket and constantly turned the eyeballs of each and every individual throughout their tenure. The Indian Women’s cricket team missed their presence and the country missed the time when these two brave ladies made us win each time. With the debut of Harmanpreet Kaur, India has crossed a milestone yet again. Let’s look at her captainship and know more about her here:
Harmanpreet Kaur, a young personality from Moga, Punjab grew up with dreams in her eyes of becoming a famous cricket player one day.
Kaur was aware of the difficulties of being able to play cricket professionally because of the lack of craze and opportunities in Punjab.
To brush her skills up and convert her dreams into reality, Kaur moved to SK Public School, a place 27 kilometers away from Mogu, where her dreams were further appreciated and valued.
Her constant involvement in the School team, playing with her fellow mates and her ability to score successfully got her into the Punjab Cricket Association.
Her dedication towards cricket and her budding performance is what also got her involved and selected in Punjab’s senior team.
Starting off as a bowler, Harmanpreet also tried her luck at batting and succeeded in the field. Each day, Harmanpreet believes in taking her game a notch up for herself and her team.
Though she was always a great player and an amazing captain, her skills were much appreciated after her first-ever T20I hundred by a woman in the Women’s World Cup T20.
Post that, humdinger innings in the semifinals of the World Cup was yet another incident when she made the entire nation proud. In this match, Harman scored a whopping 171 against Australia that made her the talk of the world.
Harman, among other players, is the one who keeps the team going, with the combination of her calm and her enthusiasm.
