No Indian festival is complete without glam, and Holi is no exception. The variety of white clothes, groovy music, food and of course the colours. Holi parties are known for their glitz. And who doesn’t want to look their best at a party! You have probably already picked your party clothes, but what about the makeup? Have you thought about the look you want to pull off at the party? The best part about makeup for Holi is that you can keep it minimalistic and simple. But that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. Here’s how you can up your glam quotient this Holi.
During Holi, the skin is inadvertently exposed to chemicals in the colours which may lead to rashes and breakouts. To avoid them, follow a simple skincare process before you start with makeup. Apply a tinted moisturiser or a foundation to even out your skin tone. It creates a barrier between your skin and the colours and acts as a base for your makeup.
If you really want your makeup to reflect the spirit of the festival, experiment with colourful eye shadow. Use matte shades of yellow, green and purple or any colour in contrast to your outfit. If you want to keep it minimalistic, use an eye shadow in neutral tones. Line your eyes with a basic black kajal or a liner; you can never go wrong with it! But glitter and gloss are making a comeback in 2019. So why not ditch the basic black kajal for a shimmery version of green, blue or purple?
Don’t forget to moisturise your lips. The skin on the lips is sensitive and the exposure to colours can make it dry. Since glossy is classy this season, choose a lip gloss in the colour of your choice. If you are not a fan of gloss, use lipsticks in tones of red and fuchsia. Define your lips with a lip liner in the same shade as your lipstick. Fill the lips with the lipstick evenly to give them a fuller look.
