It's not very often very often we come across movies that stay with us long after we’re done watching them. These intellectually inspiring movies keep making us go back to how it all began and how it all ended and everything in between. Many times these movies warrant a second watch because the viewers aren’t able to grasp everything that’s going on. So let’s take a look at some of these “intelligent movies”.

He is tasked with a job to plant an idea in the mind of a CEO of a big corporation. Two US Marshals are sent to a remote island which is home to the criminally insane to investigate the disappearance of an inmate. While investigating, one of the Marshals discovers a shocking truth about himself. One of the best movies of Martin Scorsese, the climax of the movie will leave you baffled.
3. Ex Machina (2014)
A young programmer wins the chance to help a computer genius who is working on an AI experiment. He is tasked with assessing the performance of the AI by interacting with a female robot. What the two humans don’t understand is that the AI is testing them and once it understands them... well, go and watch the movie, we won’t spoil it for you.
4. The Prestige (2006)
The Prestige is the story of two brilliant magicians turned foes due to an unfortunate incident. The two go head-to-head with each other trying to one up the other at every stage of their lives while suffering great consequences. In the end only one shall remain, but at what cost?
5. Memento (2000)
A man suffering from anterograde amnesia goes looking for his wife’s murderer which is the last thing he remembers. He uses tattoos, notes, and pictures to track down the person responsible since his memories aren’t his own.
6. Donnie Darko (2001)
A teenager starts seeing a figure in a rabbit costume that is only visible to him. The figure tells him the world is going to end soon. What follows is the figure manipulating the actions of the teenager while making him commit a series of crimes. It is a trippy movie that will keep immersed long after it has ended.
7. Cloud Atlas (2012)
This movie tells the story of decisions and choices. It is about the impact of our choices that echo through time and affect the past, the present, and the future. The movie chronicles the lives of six individuals across different generations who are connected by their deeds and their kindness.
8. Primal Fear (1996)
A young altar boy is accused of murdering a priest. He faces imminent charges when a renowned lawyer decides to take up his case. Is the altar boy really guilty? Will the lawyer be able to prove his innocence? Sometimes, the truth is not so simple and is hidden beneath multiple layers.
9. Predestination (2014)
A temporal agent (time-travelling cop) is tasked with averting an explosion in 1975 New York. Upon embarking this journey he comes across a criminal that will always stay one step ahead of him and change his life forever. The chase transforms into a unique exploration of all the time travel norms and taboos we’ve ever heard about .
10. The Lobster (2015)
The Lobster is the most unique film in this list. It tells the story of a dystopian future where singles are taken to a hotel to find a soulmate within 45 days. If they fail to do so, they are turned into a beast and sent off into the woods.
