Grammy nominations of the year are here and we are already excited to know who will win what award. The 4 major categories were announced by Andra Day live on CBS, and shortly thereafter, the Recording Academy announced the nominees in all 84 categories. The Grammy Awards is scheduled to air on Sunday, Jan. 28. Check out the Grammy nominations of major categories below.
A song is eligible to win only if it was first released or if it first achieved prominence during the Year.
What does it take to be in the nomination of the Song Of The Year? Definitely, 16 weeks atop the billboard of Top 100 songs and 4 billion Youtube views. That’s what it took ‘Despacito’ to reach there.
Lana Del Rey has been giving the top hits of the year. It would be great to see her win a Grammy one day, undoubtedly this time.
We do like the ‘Lotus Eater’ but our vote here goes to ‘Mura Masa’. Would be wonderful to see him take it home, however.
This category is so ambiguous. How wonderful would it be if ‘Antonio Sanchez’ wins! *fingers crossed*
Kaleo has never won a Best Rock Grammy, the time is now for him.
Our vote goes to Family Feud but feels like a toss-up. The Best Rap usually goes to the biggest, if not the best, of the year, so by that rule, you know you who leads this one.
We’d love to see a Zac take it home (please, Grammy Awards gods and goddesses, give it to Zac Brown Band for ‘My Old Man’)
Dancing On Water by Peter Kater was an unstoppable force this year. We vote for Peter.
It’s unfair to even compare these very distinct albums to each other. Our instincts say that ‘The Dreamer Is The Dream’ will take this one.
Para Mi has been in the top list this year. And Buika, well she deserves it for Para Mi.
We’re with Bruce Springsteen for his unforgettable ‘Born To Run’. Who wouldn’t want to see him on the stage there?
Dear Evan Hansen over others seems like the biggest deal out of the lot. But hey, we wanna believe Dear Evan Hansen is the one!
We’d say that it looks like a close race between ‘City Of Stars’ and the others. But the actual chart success should give La La Land a little bit of a leg-up in this competition.
Calvin Harris is the favourite, but if there’s enough competition, it could open things up for someone else.
We want to say ’One More Time With Feeling’ but our vote is for ‘Long Strange Trip’ too. Its by far the best one.
