With tabla beats growing steadily in the background and the screen freezing on every character as they say “KYA?”, Ekta Kapoor’s shows have built up the Indian TV serial industry from scratch. On the occasion of her birthday we celebrate her work by taking a look back at all the iconic TV moments she has given us over the years!

1. Tulsi shooting her son in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu thi

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bhahu thi.. took Ekta Kapoor’s career as a producer to unimaginable heights and remained the highest rated show for 8 consecutive years!

But the moment that still gets people all riled up is when Tulsi kept all her ideals aside and shot her son who abused his wife. This shockingly unprecedented decision was a huge character leap and became one of the most unforgettable moments in Indian TV history.

Other memorable moments include, Mihir Virani coming back to the show, Savita Virani’s mercy killing wish, Tulsi finding out about Mihir’s affair with Mandira, multiple memory losses and several heart breaks.

It's definitely been a long roller coaster ride!
