Blogbuster's Top Movies of 2019 to look forward to

2018 has been a splendid year with so many blockbusters hitting the theatres one after the other. As we head into the New Year, there are some great films lined up to wow us with its performance. These are the films nobody should miss on watching in theatres. Here’s the Blogbuster recommendation on which blockbusters you must look forward to in 2019!

1. NTR

A biopic based on the life of the legendary actor N.T. Rama Rao, NTR is widely anticipated. With Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead, the film is divided into 2 parts viz Kathanayakudu and Mahanayakudu. NTR will hit the theatres on 9th Jan 2019.

2. Uri: The Surgical Strike

With Uri, Vicky Kaushal is set to deliver yet another hit after films like Raazi, Sanju, Manmarziyaan, etc. Uri is set to release on 11th of January.

3. Petta

Petta is a Tamil action film starring Rajnikanth alongside many other superstars. The trailer of the film came out recently, and has garnered much more speculation than most releases. The release date of this blockbuster is 11th Jan, clashing with Uri but in two completely different genres.

4. Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi

We’re sure everybody has seen the trailer of the most-awaited film of the year Manikarnika starring Kangana Ranaut who is playing the role of the Queen of Jhansi. The film will come out on 25th Jan.

5. Thackeray

Directed by Abhijit Panse, Thackeray is a biopic of the Shiv Sena leader Balasaheb Thackeray. Nawazuddin Siddiqui takes the lead role and the film also stars Amrita Rao and is set to release on 25th Jan this year.

6. Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga

This is the first time ever that the father-daughter duo has come together on screen. It seems to be the ‘most unexpected romance of the year’ the film will release on 1st Feb 2019.

7. Gully Boy

Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy is a feature film starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead. The film revolves around the life story of a street rapper Divine. Siddhant Chaturvedi, Kalki Koechlin, and Vijay Varma are also a part of the film that traces the rags-to-riches story of a boy from Dharavi. The movie will hit the theatres on 14th Feb.

8. The Iron Lady

The biopic of the late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa was coined in August last year and is currently in the making. Priyadarshini is apparently directing the film with Nithya Menon playing the lead. The film is rumoured to come out on the former AIADMK chief’s birthday, the 24th of February.

9. Luka Chuppi

The most charming young actor of Bollywood, Kartik Aryan’s film Luka Chuppi is based in Mathura and Gwalior wherein, both Kartik and Kriti Sanon play the role of reporters. The film will come out on 1st March 2019.

10. Captain Marvel

This movie is considered to be the most powerful film in the history of MCU with a female character that blows our mind with her challenging and mysterious character. Captain Marvel will come out on 8th March this year.

11. Badla

Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, Badla is the remake of the Spanish thriller film Contratiempo. The film has Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Tapsee Pannu and Abhishek Bachchan playing the lead roles and is set to release on 8th March 2019.

12. Kesari

Directed by Anurag Singh, Kesari is based on the Battle of Saragarhi where 21 Sikhs fought against 10,000 Afghans in 1897. Akshay Kumar will be seen playing the role of Havaldar Ishar Singh alongside Parineeti Chopra and is set to release on 21st March 2019.

13. Dumbo

This Disney production has Eva Green, Michael Keaton, Colin Farell, and Danny Devito and many others. What else do you need now? The film will come out on 29th March 2019.

14. Kalank

Kalank is the dream project of the filmmaker Karan Johar which was conceptualized with father Yash Johar 15 years back. This film is based in the 1940s and is the dream project of KJO who has joined hands with Fox Star Studios and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Kalank will hit the theatres on 19th April.

15. Student Of The Year 2

SOTY 2 is the sequel to Karan Johar’s previous campus drama film that had Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra playing the lead roles. SOTY2 will introduce Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday and will release on 10th May this year.

16. Bharat

The Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat is a Bollywood drama film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and is scheduled for a theatrical release tentatively on 5th June 2019.

17. Toy Story 4

We thought it was the end when Andy left for college. But hey, we got a surprise when Disney announced another film in the Toy Story lexicon coming up on 20th June this year. This one will have Buzz Lightyear, and Sherrif Woody go out to find Bo Peep.

18. Spider-Man 2

Yes, we know you’re excited to watch Tom Holland ace the role yet again. Spider-Man 2 is yet another Marvel movie that we cannot wait for! The film is releasing on 5th of July this year.

19. Saaho

Saaho is an upcoming action film produced by UV Creations, T-Series, and Dharma Productions. The movie is directed by Sujeeth and has Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Evelyn Sharma in it. Saaho will hit the theatres on 15th August 2019.

20. Batla House

Inspired by a real-life encounter that took place in 2008, Batla House talks about the life of the brave police officer Sanjay Kumar Yadav played by John Abraham.  The film will release on 15th August this year.

21. Star Wars: Episode IX

Star Wars Episode IX that’s releasing in December 2019 is the final one of the Star Wars mythos wherein we will get to get to see the true fate of Rey and Kylo Ren after the death of Luke Skywalker.

22. Brahmastra

The most-awaited film of the year Brahmastra will hit the theatres on Christmas this year. The film has Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, and Mouni Roy. Brahmastra is a fantasy-adventure trilogy film directed by Ayan Mukherjee and produced by Dharma Productions.
