While we’re indoors and working from home, binge watching movies and shows have become even more of a regular affair than it was before. 2. Gladiator (2000)
This movie will take you back in time to ancient Rome and tell you the story of loyalty, devotion to a cause, greed, and tyranny. The movie chronicles the life of Maximus, a general in the army of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, after Commodus murders his father, the Emperor, and tries to kill Maximus. Maximus finds a new life as a gladiator but his past manages to catch up to him.
3. Lawrence of Arabia (1962)
The story of T.E. Lawrence, the man who united separate factions of Arabs in World War I to fight off the forces of Turks. This is one of the best war movies that depict an episode out of the first WW.
4. Rocky (1976)
You must have definitely watched Rocky by now but did you know it was an Oscar winning movie? Apart from popularizing the song Eye Of The Tiger, Rocky is a fan-favorite for its under-dog appeal. Stallone stars as Rocky, an under-dog boxer who dreams of rising to the top.
5. Gone With The Wind (1939)
A telling of a love story set amidst the American Civil War, Gone With The Wind, follows the turbulent relationship of Scarlett O’Hara and Ashley Wilkes. The film is regarded as one the greatest movies of all time and has broken many records in terms of awards and earnings.
6. The Godfather (1972)
A film that is an American film at heart with an European style of production, The Godfather is the story of the head of a mafia family who wants to handover his crime empire to his youngest son but inadvertently ends up endangering the lives of his loved ones. It has become a cult-classic.

Slumdog Millionaire is what happens when Hollywood meets Bollywood. Though it is a Hollywood movie through and through, it is the liveliness of the actors and the script set in the backdrop of Mumbai that gives it a desi feel. It is the story of a guy, who grew up in slums, and his struggles and how every stage of his life led him to win ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati?’

The Shape of Water tells the story of a mute girl who finds her soulmate in a mythical creature that is being held captive in a facility she’s a janitor at. It is an unconventional love story set in the 1950s era with beautifully crafted visuals. Truly something to be experienced!

The Hurt Locker is an enthralling ride in the back of US Military’s humvees with the bomb-disposal squad in the backdrop of the Iraq war. It follows the team of Sergeant William James who are tasked with disarming the bombs in the middle of the busy streets of Iraq.

Parasite is the story of how greed consumes the ones who don’t have anything while the ones who seem to possess everything look down upon the ones who have nothing. It is a commentary on the difference between the two social and economic strata that exist in the society. The movie follows the tricks and cons of the Kim family as they form a symbiotic relation with the Park family.
