Spoiler-alert ahead! Read it at your own risk. You have been warned.
The wait for Mirzapur 2 was sure long but oh-so-satisfying! It is one of the most binge-worthy series and we are sure most of you finished it in one go. Everything from the story to the performance of the cast was brilliant and intriguing.
In between all the chaos and living in hiding, Dimpy and Golu share an emotional moment. When the former says “Hum mein se koi roya bhi nahi ab tak” you can feel the pain and trauma they’ve gone through by losing their loved ones. They’re afraid to let emotions take control of their heart and mind and lose focus of the one thing they really want, revenge.
In the season 1 finale, Golu’s inability to shoot Munna and save all of them was a great disappointment and sad moment. In Mirzapur season 2, when the police inspector tries to kill Guddu, she sheds all her inhibitions and stabs the inspector with a glass shard till his last breath. The anger, hurt and resentment on her face was a sign that once the carefree Golu has now changed.
Golu’s inexperience with a gun costs her the life of her loved ones. While the scene in which she kills the inspector is her beginning on a dark path, the image of her shooting angrily and with determination on a tree shows that she is ready to avenge the death of her sister and the love of her life.
It was no surprise from season 1 that Kaleen Bhaiya was dissatisfied in bed and couldn’t get Beena pregnant. If something like this would have gotten out in the open, it would have done some serious damage to his ego and his reputation as a feared man. In Mirzapur 2 when he goes to the doctor for treatment, he names his bodyguard as the patient. It is hilarious to watch Kaleen Bhaiya put his bodyguard in a tough spot.
Guddu was now well and had secured a deal with Lala. After months of being in hiding, Golu and Guddu were safe with a roof over their head. Their revenge plan was now in motion. They took this moment to support each other in their emotional breakdown.
This was truly an adrenaline gushing scene in Mirzapur part 2. Though we all knew that this was not the end of Munna, it was satisfying watching Guddu taking Munna and Sharad both down with one leg injured.
When Munna is chastised by his father for developing an intimate relationship with Madhuri, Bauji suggests Kaleen Bhaiya make their position stronger with a marriage between the Tripathi's and Yadav's. When this suggestion is rejected, Bauji lays down the truth about the caste system.
Guddu and Golu blow Tripathi’s gun factory with Beena’s help. Their return was with a bang, wherein, they directly attacked the Tripathi's, thus putting a stop to their ‘katta’ business for a while. This was their first step in overtaking the city
When Madhuri denies having an intimate relationship as Munna has no feelings for her, he has an extramarital affair with someone else. Madhuri makes peace with this and tells Munna she can forgive him for this but not if he falls in love with someone else.
Kaleen Bhaiya sat in the meeting expecting Madhuri to name him as the CM candidate. But she turned the tables on him when she named herself for the position to replace her late father. She took this decision due to Kaleen Bhaiya’s selfish attitude towards her father’s death. His expression in this was priceless.
Women didn’t stay on the sidelines in Mirzapur season 2. They proved that if need be, they too, like the men of Mirzapur can rock a gun or a cleaver. Beena stopped Maqbool from killing Bauji so she could shoot him herself. But as suggested by the maid, she used a cleaver to give him a slow and painful death. Also, this inflicted upon him the shame of being killed by a woman.
Eventually, Munna developed feelings for Madhuri. He became expressive and supportive of her. The otherwise cruel Munna showed Madhuri his soft side and this was an important development in his character.
This was the moment we all had been waiting for. Again, with Beena’s help, Golu and Guddu ambushed Kaleen Bhaiya and Munna. They killed him the same way he killed Sweety and Bablu. Guddu says the exact same dialogue “hum wait hi kar rahe the, kab aap aakhein kholein aur…” and shoots Munna on his chest.
