The actor portrayed the role of wrestler Mahavir Phogat in the film who takes it upon himself to train his daughters and encourage them to participate in the male-dominated world of wrestling. Aamir Khan’s Dangal body required the actor to gain as much as 28 kilos for the movie where he was seen sporting a paunch. However, he then had only 4 months to lose excess weight through a strict regime of diet and exercise. As per reports, the actor insisted on shooting the scenes where he was heavy first to ensure he would be motivated to lose weight later. The actor managed to lower his body fat percentage from 38 to 9 making this one of his most phenomenal transformations ever.

Ghajini

This superstar was often considered Bollywood’s chocolate boy popular for his lanky frame. However, with Ghajini, Aamir Khan’s body transformation for the film soon changed that notion. The actor sported a chiselled 8-pack body for the film and gave several people the motivation they needed to renew their gym memberships. What was surprising is that the actor didn’t put on much weight but with the right diet and exercise, was able to boost his muscle mass. He trained with his fitness instructor Satyajit Chaurasia for his iconic look and reportedly would work-out for 3 hours every day. Besides, the actor also changed his meal plan and included protein shakes to boost his metabolism.

Right after his muscled look in Ghajini, Aamir Khan’s body went under a massive transformation for 3 Idiots, which was released the following year. The film took the actor back to the youthfulness of college and his body needed to reflect that lightness and energy. The actor trained hard to lose weight and also reduce his muscle mass. He once again began to showcase the lanky frame he is commonly associated with. Besides, to the overall body transformation, the superstar also worked on his body language to convincingly portray a college student. His dedication to not just the role but his look was one of the major reasons attributed to the massive success of the film.

3 Idiots

Another radical Aamir Khan transformation, the actor once again changed his look for this action-packed film. Along with being able to shoot action scenes convincingly, the actor who played a gymnast in the film needed to ensure fluidity in his movement. The actor trained under fitness trainer and acrobat Gerald Zarcilla to flaunt a sporty yet flexible image for the film. His training regime consisted of cardio formed by a mix of high and low impact aerobic exercise, boxing and HIIT (high-intensity interval training). Besides, the actor also had to perform several gymnastic exercises to achieve the flexibility required for some of his scenes. Along with training, Aamir Khan was also given a strict diet to follow to complete his look.

In his film, Aamir Khan played a cop for which he needed to look strong and muscled without going overboard. This movie followed 3 Idiots where he sported a lanky frame suitable for a college student. In achieving the perfect look for this movie, the actor lost 10 kilos and modified his diet. The result was observable and Aamir Khan had the perfect look for a police officer. Along with working on his body transformation, the actor was widely acclaimed for his mannerisms, dialogue delivery and body language changes that further added to the intrigue of the character. The film also saw stars Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor Khan in key roles.
