Published on 18th Jun 2021 by BlogBuster Editorial Team

A year after initially planned, Euro Cup 2020 is finally here! 24 teams will face each other on the football field across 11 cities for the Henri Delaunay Trophy. The UEFA European Championship is also a demonstration of some of the best football players in the world.

Before we are all submerged deep in the heat of the game, let’s have a quick look at some of the best players in the Euro Cup 2020 who are sure to leave a lasting impression-

Robert Lewandowski

Euro 2020 Squad: Poland
Position: Striker
Thanks to one of the best strikers in the world, Robert Lewandowski, Poland has entered each of the last two major international tournaments as a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately for the Poles and Lewandowski, both Euro 2016 and World Cup 2018 could not yield success. But we are rooting for him to be able to redeem himself in the UEFA European Championship 2020! Robert Lewandowski had the best season at the club level by scoring 41 league goals for champions Bayern Munich, breaking Gerd Müller’s record of 40 goals from the 1971-72 Bundesliga. He has played only one match until now in the Euro Cup 2020 with 0 goals under his belt, but we hope to see him rise in the championship ahead!

Jadon Sancho

Euro 2020 Squad: England
Position: Winger
The youngest in the England squad, Jadon Sancho plays his first major international tournament, i.e., the Euro Cup 2020. The 21-year-old had to miss out on the World Cup qualifiers at the start of the year because of an injury but is now back on the field to show some extraordinary skill with the ball. Jadon Sancho is yet to find his footing on the international level and looking at his club statistics in recent years, it is only a matter of time that he becomes one of the top footballers. We are sure that he will put his best foot forward in the UEFA European Championship 2020 and impress the football fraternity!

Manuel Neuer

Euro 2020 Squad: Germany
Position: Goalkeeper
If Robert Lewandowski and Jadon Sancho are perfect examples of their positions, then Manuel Neuer from the German squad is the perfect example of a goalkeeper. He is undoubtedly a player to watch out for in the UEFA European Championship after he underpinned his club's six competitions of Bundesliga, DFB Cup, DFL and UEFA Supercups, UEFA Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup over the last year. Manuel Neuer has been a part of 1 match in the Euro Cup 2020, but we are hoping to see some solid gameplay from him. He may face a tough challenge in France's Kylian Mbappé and Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo in Group F, but it will be worth a sight to watch them in a face-off

Thomas Müller

Euro 2020 Squad: Germany
Position: Forward
All geared up to play his first competitive game for the country after more than two years, Thomas Müller has upped his game for the better! His performances at club level for Bayern Munich could not be ignored and paved the way for Euro Cup 2020. Thomas Müller played a major role in Bayern’s ninth consecutive championship during the 2020-21 Bundesliga, as the only player with 11 goals and 18 assists in the competition. No other player was a part of as many open-play sequences ending with a shot as Müller (186), with 14 of these being the final pass before a goal. Here’s hoping that he showcases the same kind of gameplay in the UEFA European Championship!

Benjamin Pavard

Euro 2020 Squad: France
Position: Right-Back
Benjamin Pavard is one of the most important players in Euro Cup 2020 from the Bayern Club playing for France. He recently won an average of 10 tackles per game in 2020/21 and carries that extra flair for the extraordinary that saw him score the goal of the tournament against Argentina at the World Cup in 2018. Benjamin Pavard was recently injured in the match between France and Germany. Though he was declared fit to play, it is yet to be determined whether he will be a part of the next game of the UEFA European Championship on Saturday. Here’s wishing Benjamin Pavard a speedy recovery!

Kylian MBappé

Euro 2020 Squad: France
Position: Forward
A lot of expectations are riding on Kylian Mbappé in the UEFA European Championship after he became the second-youngest goal scorer in a World Cup final after the legendary Pelé. He has showcased commendable potential over the last three seasons by finishing as Ligue 1 top scorer, the first to do so since Jean-Pierre Papin and becoming the youngest player to reach 100 Ligue 1 goals. Kylian Mbappé is definitely one of the strongest players in the Euro Cup 2020 and we can’t wait for him to set the field ablaze with his game!
