Bollywood is known for its incredible films from the beginning. There are films that made history and ones that took home award after award. This year started with a bang, with a range of films in different genres hitting the screens. It gave us movies that were talked about and gained fame even overseas. Here is the list of films that made us go gaga in the 1st quarter of the year

1. Padmaavat (25th January)
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited royal drama, Padmaavat came out on 25th January this year after a lot of speculation. The grand film captured the attention of audiences around the world. Ranveer’s attire, his passionate walk, and his killer dialogues won thousands of hearts overall. Deepika, as Rani Padmini, looks aristrocratic and Shahid Kapoor just fits right as Rajput Rawal Ratan Singh

2. Padman (9th February)
Padman is a real-life inspiring story of Arunachalam Muruganantham who was known as a social entrepreneur in Coimbatore. 3. Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (23rd February)
Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, a film based on friendship gained a lot of fame after its release. The Pyaar Ka Panchnama stars managed to attract the audience and cross the 100 crore mark. With such an incredible script to give the devil his due, the film gave its audience quite a laugh riot too

4. Raid (16th March)
Inspired by the true incidents of income tax raids by the Indian revenue service, the film Raid creates a strong sensation in the current political and public scenario. This Ajay Devgn starrer is one of a kind and definitely a must watch

5. Hichki (23rd March)
Based on the true-life story of Brad Cohen’s How Tourette Syndrome Made Me the Teacher I Never Had, Hichki is a film about a teacher with Tourette’s Syndrome who makes her condition appear very natural. Rani Mukerji’s energetic, engaging performance in the film makes Hichki a hit show

6. Baaghi 2 (30th March)
Baaghi 2 is an action film with a lot of action and thrills. Both Tiger and Disha look stunning throughout the film. Tiger, as usual, pulls off his trademark kicks and punches with effortless ease while Disha manages to impress everyone with her impressive looks. This one was a box office hit and kept our eyes glued to the silver screen

These films urged us to hit the theatres quite a few times in the 1st
quarter. When only 3 months of the year can give us such great films,
we’re certain the upcoming films will surely break all the box office
records and awaken the actor in us.
